Thaxted Windmill

Thaxted Windmill was originally built in 1804 and is a Grade ll* listed windmill which has been fully restored.

The repair works consisted:

• the repair of the fantail, stocks, cap, sails and brickwork at high level
• along with associated electrical installations

On the ground and first floors is a museum containing agricultural artefacts.

Funding was provided by English Heritage, The Heritage Lottery Fund, Essex environment Trust, as well as the Thaxted Windmill Management Committee.
